White-throated Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) with nesting material in beak, Brock Valley White-throated Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) perched on rocks, with nesting material in spring. Moss seems to make up a good part of the nesting material gathered from up and down the river. Dippers have a remarkable way to catch food in a niche area. They are able to dive under water readily at will and walk along the bottom in search of caddis fly larva and other food.
