Black headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) returning with nesting material. The incoming bird seems to go through a system where it offers the nesting material to the partner as if in approval. The nesting material is not place immediately, or just dumped. Once larger structural materials have been collected, smaller pieces are collected, and finally the lining will be collected last. The Gulls are industrious and make use of all the materials available in as short a flight as possible from the nest.
