Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) Herd of Curlews in flight making the rounds of the pools formed by the incoming high Spring tide. The high Spring tide floods the Marshes and deposits silts and nutrients and drive insects and other invertebrates to the surface. It has one of the most evocative and distinctive of calls. They are one of the most ancient lineages of scolopacid waders.
