Interestingly the bird seems to spot which reed can be uprooted whilst in flight it will the collect it whilst in flight. The Phragmities reed forms a lot of the basic structure of the nest. The area is situated at present on a shingle which is slowly carrying more vegetation as the site develops from the extensive management program.
