Red Knot (Calidris canutus) At low spring tide in Winter. The tide had gone out exceptionally far, one of the lowest in recent times Winter 2010. Flocks in excess of 100,000 birds appearing like drifts of smoke in the sky sometimes recorded, especially in cold winters, best in conjunction with winter Spring Tides.
