Black headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) collecting nesting materials. Once larger structural materials have been collected, smaller pieces are collected, and finally the lining will be collected last. The area is situated at present on a shingle which is slowly carrying more vegetation as the site develops from the extensive management program. The Gulls are industrious and make use of all the materials available in as short a flight as possible from the nest.
