European Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) with two chicks, during the midday sun. One parent has just arrived to the right and is inspecting and greeting the chicks with tenderness. The second parent has been on the nest in the heat wit the chicks for some time and is tching to get out and probably cool off while fishing. No food exchanged for the parent to the chicks this time round.
