Just a single chick, and demanding all its parents attention. They leave the nest at a very young age, and spend time hiding in the fringes of reeds, and other cover. Omnivorous, feeds while swimming or walking on floating vegetation or land, especially damp Meadows. Habitat, Marsh, reed bed, small lakes.
